Zarzuela USA International and the Asociación Zarzuela por el Mundo present Zarzuela voices

An educational program designed for lyric singers who will immerse themselves in the world of zarzuela for 10 days. Zarzuela USA International invites students and professionals from the United States and around the world to participate.

About Zarzuela voices

In collaboration with the Asociación Zarzuela por el Mundo, this program brings together distinguished instructors to work with selected participants in the following areas:

  • Vocal technique.
  • Acting technique.
  • Interpretation.
  • Musical direction.
  • Stage preparation and body language.
  • Strategies for a successful musical career.

At the end of the workshops, a Closing Gala will be held, giving all participants the opportunity to shine on stage.

The date and location for the “Zarzuela Voices 2025” edition will be announced after April 1, 2025.

Selection Process

Step 1

Submit your video

Record a zarzuela romanza showcasing your musical talent, with a maximum duration of 3 minutes. Submission deadline: April 1, 2025.

Step 2

First selection

30 participants will be selected during the initial phase.

Step 3

Second selection

From this group, up to 14 active students will be chosen to participate fully in the program. The remaining applicants will be invited as passive participants, with access to all classes and activities included in the “Zarzuela Voices 2025” program.

Disclaimer

*For participants who are residents in the United States, Zarzuela USA International covers all expenses.

*For international participants, Zarzuela USA International will cover meals and lodging. They are responsible for the payment of the airfare and must have a visa.

*Experience in Zarzuela or speaking Spanish is not required.

Analía celebrates the heritage of being the fourth generation in her family immersed in music and cultural production, studying at Interlochen National Music Academy Michigan, she joined the National Symphony Orchestra of SODRE Uruguay and the Montevideo Philharmonic Orchestra as a violist player. Participates in the foundation of the Youth Symphony Orchestra “José Artigas” She begins her career as a Cultural Producer becoming the General Manager of the SODRE National Youth Symphony Orchestra producing national official tours and concerts throughout Europe as in the Berlin Philharmonic, in the United States Kennedy Center, National Theaters of Mexico and Panama Analía has been the Institutional Coordinator of the SODRE National Symphony Orchestra, developing institutional strengthening and exchange at national and international level. She is the Institutional Coordinator of the Foundation” Sistema de Orquestas y Coros Infantiles y Juveniles del Uruguay” that has been for more than 20 years accomplishing the statement about” Music as universal right”, making it possible for thousands of children of all across Uruguay to access a Choral and Orchestral training. Also joining the team in Zarzuela USA as the Executive Director.
